What We Believe

I. The Scriptures

We believe that the original text of Scripture, both the 1st Covenant (Old Testament) and the Restored Covenant (New Testament) are Divinely inspired, and given to His people through His chosen men who were moved by the Holy Spirit. .

Exodus 24:4; 2 Peter 1:20-21

II. God (Yahweh)

We believe in the only one true God (Yahweh) and is identified in Scripture as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And He presents Himself to mankind as Father (Overseer of all things and Creator of all things), Jesus (Yahshua the Lamb of Yahweh and the Word that all things were created through), and the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh who leads us into all truth).

Gen. 1:1; John 1:1-3; John 16:13; 1 Cor. 8:6; Acts 1:4

III. Man

We believe man was created in the image of God (Yahweh) and through his disobedience fell from grace. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Yahweh) and that repentance is necessary for forgiveness. Only the grace of God (Yahweh) can bring man into His fellowship.

Genesis 1:26-30 As the crowning work of His creation, Yahweh created humans in His image as male and female. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of Yahweh’s creation and His original design for humanity. Therefore, we believe that gender is assigned at birth based on genetics and biology, and any attempt to override or change gender is a sinful rejection of Yahweh’s design.

Genesis 3:6-7; Romans 3:23

IV. Salvation

Salvation is offered freely to anyone who accepts Yahshua the Messiah as Master and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Yahshua Messiah as Master.

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God (Yahweh) and faith is the acceptance of Yahshua Messiah and commitment of the entire person to Yahweh.

Genesis 3:21;  Matthew 1:21; Romans 6:23

V. The Congregation at Cornerstone

The congregation at Cornerstone are believer’s who have been grafted into the Olive Tree (Israel) through the Master Yahshua Messiah and experience His presence through participating in the festivals of Yahweh, and are governed by His laws. Through the exercising of the gifts of the Spirit (Ruach) we minister to one another building each other up in Messiah. We desire to proclaim the Good News of His deliverance to all people. The congregation operates under the Headship of Messiah through His Word. In such a congregation each member is responsible and accountable to Messiah and the leadership of the congregation. The Leadership of the congregation is Pastors, Elders and deacons which is in accordance with Scriptures.

Matthew 16:15-19; 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-42,47
