“According to God’s grace that was given to me, as a skilled master builder I have laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But each one must be careful how he builds on it, because no one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid-that is, Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 3:10-11
Cornerstone Baptist Church was named for what we believe, and that is, Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the church. The foundation of the building determines the rest of the building, and that is why it must be Jesus. When Jesus is the standard everything else that happens in the church is based on Him and His Word. At Cornerstone we believe that our worship, fellowship, prayer, teaching and evangelism is based on what Jesus called us to in His Word, and motivated by His love for the world.
We also believe that our relationship with Jesus Christ goes far beyond the spoken word. We believe that God’s Word ought to affect the way we live, and the actions we take with others. Jesus in His Words tells us that the things that we do for those around us are the things that we do to Him. When we serve others we are serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our Christianity affects our lives on every level, not just our church lives.
